Mrs. Shields' Thoughts on a Greek Mythology Book

Since we are in the middle of our Olympic unit, I thought I would post a review on a book about Greek mythology that's been a favorite of mine since 5th grade! We learned that the Ancient Olympic Games were a ceremony to their gods. We also saw why Paul went as a missionary to the Greeks - they really needed to know about the one true God!

D'aulaire's Book of Greek Myths (by Ingri & Edgar Parin D'aulaire) is full of the background of the Greek gods and goddesses.

I checked this out over and over again when I was in 5th & 6th grades. It is a great way to find out what the Greeks believed in ancient times. Check it out for yourself at our Media Center or order one for yourself from ChristianBook.com.

Happy Reading!

Awesome idea! When one studies the Roman and Greek gods it really brings a good understanding to the world of the New Testament into which Jesus was born and the culture into which the early church was born.
